After months of submitting my application. I received a call out of the blue from a recruiter representing Deliveroo asking to have the first round of interviews on the spot. I politely declined and requested to reschedule as I was on sick leave. The recruiter then proceeded to push me to have the interview there and then because he had to fill in "15 roles by end of the day" and unless I was "really ill" he didn't feel the need to reschedule.
I then ended the conversation by rescinding my application. His response was "WOW". I think an interview goes both ways, and this is definitely not representing Deliveroo in the best light. I felt the process was very unprofessional and the recruiter was frankly very rude.
As someone who was interested in working for the firm as well as a direct customer of Deliveroo, I felt very disappointed by the experience.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review and ugh, this sounds terrible and well below any standard we'd set ourselves (to the extent I'm wondering whether this was a third-party acting on behalf of Deliveroo). I'm very sorry. Would you mind dropping me an email so I can dig into this? I'll also try my best to make it up to you. jamie.edwards+glassdoor@deliveroo.co.uk
