My interview process had three main steps: 1. Interview primer w/ recruiter 2. Technical phone interview 3. Technical on-site interview The phone interview consisted of a leetcode medium question and I was given a leetcode hard as a follow-up. I was told the follow-up was purely additional as I had completed the interview with a bit of remaining time. The on-site interview consisted of 3 leetcode question, 1 technical/leetcode question, and 1 system design question. The 3 leetcode questions were all in the medium-hard range. The 1 technical/leetcode question was more of an exercise to pick my brain, I essentially had to work through Huffman coding (I was not familiar with this at the time but it's fairly straightforward), this was probably the hardest round and it was with the bar raiser. The last interview was a system design portion which I was ill-prepared for.

Question 1
Don't stop and think, when you are building the Huffman coding tree does it matter if you are building the subtree from the right or left? (Or something like that, it was a while ago)
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (New York, NY) in Aug 2022
Interview
It has 3 stages, first one is coding, they ask you two question and want you to write a simple code. Second one is behavioral questions, and last one is video interview, it takes about 30 min. They wants you to explain how you wrote the code.
Phone interview to onsite. Interview question was a leetcode hard, but not too hard since the problem was more of a math problem than a coding problem. They also ask behavioral questions relating to Leadership principles.
