I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Mumbai)
Interview
Amazon’s university hiring involves an aptitude and coding test, followed by one or two technical interviews, and a final HR or managerial round assessing leadership principles, communication, and overall technical competency.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me to explain my final-year project — specifically the technical architecture, tools used, challenges faced during implementation, and how I optimized its performance for better accuracy and efficiency.
I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Mar 2025
Interview
One coding question with a follow-up, and two behavioral questions, covering topics such as projects, making mistakes, handling tight deadlines, teamwork, what you learned from those experiences, and what you would do differently if you had to do it again.
Data Structures & Algorithms
Medium/Hard LeetCode style.
Time complexity discussion.
Edge cases & testing.
System Design (simplified for SDE I)
Not large-scale architecture.
Examples: design a URL shortener, elevator system, or parking lot.
More about object-oriented design, APIs, and tradeoffs.
Behavioral (Leadership Principles)
Deep dive into past experiences.
Expect “Tell me about a time you disagreed with your manager…”
Bar Raiser Interview
One interviewer is a Bar Raiser (ensures high hiring standards).
Mix of coding + behavioral, with extra focus on LP alignment.
