I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at ALDI (Blaine, MN) in Jul 2015
Interview
This was round one of Three interviews in the Aldi hiring process. I received a phone call to set up my first interview a day after turning in my application. I went to the same location where I initially turned in my application. It was very informal as we went to the employee break room and sat down to talk. Two other Managers were observing this process.

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ALDI (Dearborn Heights, MI) in Mar 2012
Interview
I went to a job fair in a local Aldis that must have had at least 400 people present and that was only in the begining of the day! I was chosen to do an informal second interview at another Aldis about a week later with the district manager. We had the second interview in an informal setting in a back room office of the store. The district manager was nice but professional. She didn't ask me any stupid questions like why do you want to work for us or why should we hire you? She asked things like do you have any experience working in a grocery store or as a cashier? I didn't, but she seemed to like my smiling but firm personality. I think all you need to be hired here is a strong healthy body and raw intelligence that they can build on. She didn't mind training someone without experience and the questions she asked just seemed geared towards finding out how much training I would need to get my job done correctly.
