I’ve reached the stage of unemployment where I’m unironically considering moving back into my parents' basement at the age of 35. My lease is up in two months, and without a steady offer letter, no landlord in the city will even look at my application. How are you guys handling housing or lease renewals while being in the between jobs limbo?

What does a normal week of job searching look like for you? Do you have a specific schedule or do you fly by the seat of your pants? I'm trying to figure out some flexibility and still have goals during the week so that I stay productive.

I got a rejection letter today that was actually personalized. It mentioned my specific portfolio pieces and thanked me for the conversation. It was such a shock to be treated like a human being that I almost wanted to email them back and ask them to hire me for a different role just because they were nice. Have you had any positive rejection experiences?

Sometimes I beat myself up about not having a job yet. I start wondering if it’s all my fault. Maybe I’m not applying enough. Maybe I’m not networking enough. Maybe I’m not trying hard enough. Some days I can separate my worth from my situation. Other days not so much. Has anyone else ever struggled with blaming themselves when things aren’t working out?
